Oscar Boscarol srl: “REAS is always the most important meeting and comparison point in Italy between all operators in the emergency sector “

Oscar Boscarol Srl is a company specialized in the production and distribution of emergency medical devices. A history spanning over thirty years that is closely intertwined with that of REAS in which the Bolzano-based company has taken part since the first editions.

Here is the interview with the business management of Oscar Boscarol srl.

The past year was inevitably marked by COVID-19. The emergency sector has played a key role in addressing the spread of the pandemic. What is the experience of Oscar Boscarol srl?
We have all faced a difficult year and like Oscar Boscarol we are proud to have contributed to the emergency management with the supply of our devices: we believe that the contribution of every single person has been fundamental to make the entire emergency machine work, we are proud to have participated and grateful to all those who in this period have worked hard and did everything possible to assist those who need it.

REAS 2021 is proposed as a starting point for the entire sector and wants to convey to operators and volunteers a signal of unity and confidence in the future. What are your expectations for this edition?
REAS is the first major meeting that brings together the emergency sector in Italy and we believe that it can, as always, be an excellent showcase for us exhibitors also as a signal to restart towards the future, certainly feeling a little more united in the difficulties that we have. seen all protagonists, but also confident that the value of what we do can be considered even stronger.

What news will you bring to REAS 2021? Are there any special initiatives that you will present at the fair?
Last year we were heavily involved in the production of our aspirators, so we have some news in store that we are still working on and which we will probably present with the new year: we will still be at REAS with our leading devices, secretion aspirators and oxygen kits. for ambulance, as well as bags and backpacks that we have improved in some technical characteristics and with our range of immobilization products, always made in Italy and obviously compliant with the new regulation on medical devices MDR 745/2017.

Trofeo Cinofili Cani da Soccorso: at REAS 2021 the new edition of the contest proposed by Sartoria Schiavi

Every year REAS proposes a program of special events that focus on the theme of training. The edition scheduled from 8 to 10 October 2021 at the Centro Fiera di Montichiari will be an unmissable opportunity for volunteers and operators who want to enrich their technical background and grow through discussions on the field. A particular role is played by contests which have the merit of combining training with moments of healthy competition

One of the most anticipated events within REAS 2021 is the new edition of the Trofeo Cinofili Cani da Soccorso promoted by Sartoria Schiavi. The contest is aimed at all dog units of civil protection volunteer associations active in the country and brings to the fair a concrete demonstration of the operation of rescue dogs in emergency contexts. In the latest edition, which was proposed in 2019, the trophy has garnered many acclaim, being appreciated for the high technical level of the units involved and for the spectacular aspects of the various tests.

The 2021 edition promises some innovations in the competition mechanisms that the organizers will announce in the coming weeks.

At REAS 2021 the second edition of the “Giuseppe Zamberletti Trophy”

REAS is a fair that has always invested heavily in on-the-job training. Each edition hosts events and contests under the banner of technical training, in collaboration with institutions, associations and specialized companies.

Among the appointments already confirmed, on Saturday 9 October, REAS will host the second edition of the “Giuseppe Zamberletti” Trophy organized by PROCIV ITALIA, National Association of Civil Protection and Health Volunteers. An initiative dedicated to the memory of Giuseppe Zamberletti, founder of the Civil Protection of the Presidency of the Council, former extraordinary Commissioner following the earthquakes in Friuli in 1976 and in Irpinia in 1980. One of the cornerstones of his thinking has always been the need to enhance local authorities and exploit the many energies that volunteering is able to express.

The new edition of the Trophy dedicated to him will engage many volunteers in field trials, showing once again the value of commitment and training.

REAS 2021: innovative technologies for personal care services at the fair

After the official resumption of exhibition activity, established by Law Decree no. 52 of 22 April 2021, the appointment with REAS is approaching, the leading trade fair in Italy for the first aid, civil protection and fire emergency sector, which will be held at the Centro Fiera di Montichiari (BS) from 8 to 10 October 2021 .

Over the last year, Centro Fiera di Montichiari (BS), promoter of the event, has continued to work with confidence, in the belief that, with the improvement of the epidemiological situation, fairs are an essential tool for the restart of the economic system. The one related to emergency management is no exception, which in Italy stands at levels of absolute excellence. The appointment with REAS will offer an opportunity to give the right visibility to production and commercial realities that, during these difficult months, have not stopped investing and innovating.

REAS is a point of reference for those who work in emergency management” says Gianantonio Rosa, president of the Centro Fiera Montichiari. “The Italian system can count on professionals of the highest profile and volunteers who demonstrate a great spirit of sacrifice in the field every day. Furthermore, the companies of our country are among the best in Europe. This is why we are proud to promote an event like REAS, which has always been close to their needs. Fairs are an opportunity to meet and an opportunity for growth. In this delicate moment, our goal is to give concrete support to the recovery.

In the edition scheduled for October 2021, REAS will give ample space to personal care services which, within the Italian municipalities, are entrusted to the intervention of the Social Services Departments. It is an area that is of great importance in our country and which, in the midst of the COVID-19 emergency, proved to be essential to support the most fragile sections of the population put to the test by the pandemic. In the effectiveness of personal care services, the first aid and assistance technologies that volunteers and operators use in the field are fundamental. REAS will offer a complete overview of all the main innovations in support of voluntary and civil protection groups which, with the coordination of the Municipalities, guarantee fundamental services for the territory.

The restart of the fairs: from 8 to 10 October 2021, REAS alongside volunteers and operators in the emergency sector

Also for the fairs it is the moment of the restart. Based on the provisions of Law Decree no. 52 of 22 April 2021 containing urgent measures for the gradual resumption of economic and social activities in compliance with the need to contain the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic, from 15 June the exhibition activity can officially restart. The appointment with REAS International Exhibition for Rescue, Fire Fighting, Disaster Relief and Security in Montichiari (BS) is set for 8, 9 and 10 October 2021. Over the last year, Centro Fiera Montichiari and Deutsche Messe, promoters of the event, have worked with the maximum commitment to prepare a 2021 edition capable of giving concrete support to the restart of the sector.

Under the aegis of AEFI, the Italian Exhibition and Fair Association, the Italian trade fair system has developed common protocols that allow everyone to leave safely, in full compliance with the provisions on health, to protect visitors, exhibitors and workers. In view of the actual reopening scheduled for mid-June, therefore, the country’s exhibition operators have joined forces to ensure a safe restart.

For over twenty years, REAS has been alongside volunteers and operators in the emergency sector,” says Gianantonio Rosa, president of the Montichiari Exhibition Center. “Even in this difficult phase, the REAS world has shown a profound closeness to those involved in the front line in managing the pandemic. The trade fair system can make a concrete contribution to economic recovery, putting its structures and skills at the service of the territory. As Centro Fiera di Montichiari we are working tirelessly on the events of the second half of 2021 and REAS is certainly among the most awaited, as evidenced by the numerous companies that have already confirmed their participation. The added value of REAS is the ability to give voice to the Italian emergency sector and we are confident that the October edition will reward the efforts made by companies in the sector.

The new challenges of emergency management will be the theme of the October edition of REAS. In twenty years of history, the event has established itself as a point of reference for those who work in the management of civil protection, first aid and fire protection emergencies. The fair is the best tool to orientate oneself in a sector that, today more than ever, is undergoing profound transformations. Technological evolution, regulatory adjustments and the need to define increasingly accurate standards of intervention are key factors for operators. REAS offers an opportunity for comparison with the best production and commercial realities in the sector, thanks to an audience of operators and volunteers from all over Italy in search of the main innovations that the market offers. At REAS 2021 it will be possible to share the many experiences gained over the past months, giving space to Bodies, Associations and State Bodies that have faced an unprecedented challenge for the national emergency management system.

The appointment with REAS International Exhibition for Rescue, Fire Fighting, Disaster Relief and Security, therefore, is from 8 to 10 October 2021 at Centro Fiera Montichiari.

New date for INTERSCHUTZ: June 2022

The dates for INTERSCHUTZ have been changed, with the event now taking place from 20 to 25 June 2022. The decision to reschedule the world’s leading trade fair fire, rescue, civil protection and safety/security was taken by Deutsche Messe after a process of thorough deliberation and intensive discussion with key market players. In a context that has affected numerous other trade fairs and events, the move was driven by the latest developments in the global status of the COVID 19 pandemic.

Flagship trade fairs like INTERSCHUTZ have a long-range planning horizon and require a lead time of several months. In addition, the industries that participate at INTERSCHUTZ, either as exhibitors or visitors, are among the people most heavily involved in dealing with the current pandemic across the globe,” comments Dr. Andreas Gruchow, Member of the Deutsche Messe Managing Board. “INTERSCHUTZ takes place every five years. The community of people involved in fire and rescue services as well as civil protection has been eagerly awaiting the next edition of the event. Against this background, the decision to reschedule was a difficult one. But a series of intensive discussions with our partners and exhibitors as well as representatives of key visitor target groups made clear to us that this move was unavoidable. A staging of the event in the summer of 2022 has been welcomed by all stakeholders. This is the only way we can offer everyone the necessary planning security for their trade fair appearance. A flagship fair like this one thrives on a large number of international visitors and, in particular, face-to-face encounters. Based on the current international travel restrictions, our clients would not be able to adequately prepare for such a major, globally significant trade fair,” Gruchow concludes.

The auspices for INTERSCHUTZ have been excellent for a long time,” adds Martin Folkerts, Global Director of INTERSCHUTZ at Deutsche Messe, continuing: “We had already signed up a record number of exhibitors for the originally planned edition of the event in June 2020. We are confident our exhibitors will now join us in organizing INTERSCHUTZ 2022, which will be staged for the first time as a hybrid event. The pandemic has made us all aware of the importance of the fire department, rescue services and civil protection. In addition, we expect significant increases in investment in these sectors all over the world, which will present the ideal conditions for our marketplace. More than any other event, INTERSCHUTZ thrives on personal contact and direct networking. It is THE platform for the worldwide community.

The manufacturers of fire fighting technology within the VDMA expressly welcome the postponement of INTERSCHUTZ to 2022. For us, INTERSCHUTZ is the most important international trade fair for the industry. And our expectation is that it will seamlessly follow on from the great success of 2015. We are certain that the conditions will be in place in 2022. Our highly innovative industry will have numerous exciting new products in its program by then. And the German and international visitors will make INTERSCHUTZ 2022 the big live event of the year as we know it,” said Dr. Bernd Scherer, Executive management member of the German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA) and Managing Director VDMA Fire Fighting Equipment, commenting on the new date of INTERSCHUTZ in June 2022.

Dirk Aschenbrenner, President of the German Fire Protection Association (vfdb), also welcomes the decision to postpone INTERSCHUTZ until 2022: “Our emergency services are and will continue to be extremely busy in the coming months. As we know, INTERSCHUTZ is always a welcome opportunity for thousands of them to obtain information, exchange experiences and network. None of this would be possible at present in this tense situation. However, without the many visitors, including those from the non-material world, INTERSCHUTZ would not be what it has always been. Exhibitors also appreciate the direct contact with those who ultimately use their products and services. The industry needs this exchange between suppliers and users“.

Dieter Siegel, CEO of Rosenbauer International AG, welcomes the new date for INTERSCHUTZ in the summer of 2022: “Unfortunately, the COVID-19 crisis still has a firm grip on all of us and does not yet allow us to hold trade fairs and major events safely at the present time. However, the safety and health of people is of course our top priority as a system provider in fire and disaster control. We are therefore in favor of postponing INTERSCHUTZ until 2022, because we all want nothing more than an INTERSCHUTZ as we know it: an unforgettable trade show experience and a meeting place for fire departments from all over the world, without compromising on the safety of our customers, visitors and guests“.

The next INTERSCHUTZ will take place from 20 to 25. June 2022 at the Hannover Exhibition Grounds.

The activity in the Covid-19 era from the voice of the protagonists: from the REAS webinars a signal of trust for the emergency sector

REAS has always been alongside the protagonists of emergency management and even more in such a delicate moment in which operators and volunteers are engaged in the forefont for the containment of the spread of Covid-19.

Waiting for the next edition postponed for a year and to be held from 8 to 10 October 2021, on Friday 2, Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October, REAS has promoted a program of conferences, seminars and online courses dedicated to some key issues of the sector, considering expertise gained over the last few months in the coping of the pandemic Covid-19. In the afternoon, with the seminar entitled, “The volunteer between old and new PPE” promoted by AiFOS Civil Protection, the REAS audience had the opportunity to explore one of the most interesting topics for those who work today in the world of volunteering. The interventions of dr. Stefano Farina, vice president of AiFOS Civil Protection, and of dr. Daniela Panariti, RSPP and consultant on safety in the workplace, offered an exhaustive overview on PPE and how to manage them in the Covid era

Friday ended with the seminar edited by the Italian Relief Corps of the Order of Malta entitled “COVID-19: the experience and activities in the CISOM territory“. The lawyer Marino Colosio, CISOM national inspector, the lawyer Carlo Settembrini Trabucchi, Lombardy group leader, and Leonardo Spataro, Brescia group leader, illustrated the activities carried out by CISOM, the participation in the construction of the Covid Hospitals in Milan and Civitanova Marche and above all the spirit of service of a particularly active company in the area.

Saturday 3 October was dedicated to the fourth edition of the AIB national round table dedicated to forest fire fighting, an event that for years, during REAS, has brought together the main characters from all over Italy. This year the appointment took place in an unprecedented online formula which involved, under the skilful direction of Franco Pasargiklian, director of the magazine “La Protezione Civile Italiana”, AIB representatives of the stations of the Liguria Region, Lombardy Region, Puglia Region, Piedmont Region and Tuscany Region. dr. Dario Negro brought the greeting of the head of the National Civil Protection Department Angelo Borrelli. A lot of testimonies and different experiences emerged from the various interventions and activities carried out in recent months, with the aim of carrying out a series of concrete proposals to make the management of the fire emergency even more coordinated and effective.

The round table had an international scope thanks to the initial speech of Andreas Züge, general manager of Hannover Fairs International GmbH, co-organizer of REAS together with Centro Fiera di Montichiari, and to the greeting recorded by Germany by Dirk Aschenbrenner, president of VFDB, the German Association for the Fire Protection. At the end of the works, the director of the Centro Fiera di Montichiari Ezio Zorzi launched the proposal to promote the “AIB general states” of forest fire prevention on the occasion of REAS 2021, involving all the representatives of the twenty Italian Regions in a great moment of discussion, as well as organizations and associations from abroad.

The seminar proposed by the Province of Brescia entitled “What to know to manage a volunteer organization of Civil Protection” concluded REAS online events on Sunday 4 October with. Despite some technical unforeseen events due to bad weather that initially delayed the connection, Giovanni Sala, coordinator of Civil Protection groups, summarized all the fundamental aspects to be taken into consideration in order to properly manage the administration of the OGV.

Within the next few days, all webinars can be reviewed on the website reas.tmediasupport.com/ in order to provide everyone the opportunity to listen to or to watch the various contributions.

The initiative turned out to be a successful experiment” explains Gianantonio Rosa, president of Centro Fiera S.p.A.. “The world of emergency is closely linked to REAS. While waiting for the 2021 edition, it was important to send a message of trust that would reach all volunteers and operators who dedicate their energy and commitment to the benefit of all of us. Their enthusiasm motivates us to work with even more conviction for the next edition of REAS which will be held from 8 to 10 October 2021.
