At REAS 2024 a conference dedicated to the air component in forest firefighting operations and coordination with ground personnel

Every year, especially in the summer, thousands of hectares of forests go up in flames throughout Italy due to forest fires, causing enormous damage to our forest heritage and also endangering infrastructure, residential areas and people. In the fight against fires, the “aerial component” is indispensable, with planes and helicopters capable of discharging tons of water or retardant liquid on the areas affected by the fire, the effectiveness of which however requires strong coordination with ground personnel. This is the theme of the new conference proposed by REAS 2024, organized by Mediarkè in collaboration with AerSpo – Aerial Specialised Operation Association.

The Formula Guida Sicura Driver of the Year Trophy returns to REAS 2024

On the occasion of REAS 2024, the traditional appointment with the “Driver of the Year” Trophy returns, the contest reserved for drivers of emergency vehicles promoted by Formula Guida Sicura.

The event, a REAS “classic”, will give the opportunity to test the skills of volunteers and operators in the field, allowing the public present in the external area to appreciate the safe driving of emergency vehicles from nearby.

The appointment is for Saturday 5 October at REAS. For information on participation: www.formulaguidasicura.it

Waste management between emergency and prevention: at REAS 2024 the conference promoted by the magazine “112Emergencies”

Waste management between emergency and prevention: the role of Civil Protection volunteers”. This is the title of the conference scheduled for Saturday 5 October as part of REAS 2024, promoted by the magazine “112Emergencies” and coordinated by the director Luigi Rigo.

The topic is highly topical. Emergency waste management, in fact, requires a structured approach to avoid environmental damage and reduce disposal costs. When clearing houses, basements and industrial areas, it is essential to sort waste homogeneously and manage hazardous materials, such as paints and oils, with specific skills to prevent environmental contamination, for example by avoiding the release of contaminated water into waterways.

In this context, Civil Protection Volunteers play a fundamental role, but it is essential that they are adequately trained and supported by competent personnel, in compliance with current regulations. Their training must include knowledge on the management of hazardous waste, sorting techniques and safety measures to prevent pollution.

The conference will offer an important opportunity for discussion on this topic, with the participation of important speakers and representatives of the institutions.

REAS 2024: an increasingly complete exhibition offer

The emergency sector is increasingly linked to innovation processes and the use of new technologies. The challenges posed by climate change make monitoring, prevention and relief activities even more complex. For this reason, companies in the sector are experimenting with solutions and products capable of adapting to increasingly uncertain contexts, where flexibility and speed of intervention can prove decisive in securing the territory and saving human lives. The exhibitors at REAS, the leading fair in Italy for the emergency sector, reflect this evolution, offering a highly specialized showcase for those working in the emergency sector. The 2024 edition, scheduled from 4 to 6 October at Centro Fiera Montichiari, will focus on the main macro-areas that have accompanied the growth of the event over the course of over two decades: firefighting, civil protection and first aid. Over the years, complementary exhibition sections have been added to these product lines which, from edition to edition, have strengthened the fair, making it even more complete. This is the case of aids for people with disabilities and, lastly, of the segment linked to safety at work.

The focus of REAS will, as usual, be on firefighting, civil protection and first aid,” explains Ezio Zorzi, director of the Montichiari Exhibition Centre. “At the same time, a high-profile event must be able to grasp the signals coming from the market. By delving into technologies at the service of people with disabilities and devices for safety at work, REAS completes its exhibition offer, giving concrete answers to the needs of operators.

The October edition, in fact, will be an opportunity to evaluate special setups for ambulances and medical vehicles, created based on the needs of those who provide assistance to people with disabilities. The interlocutors are the operators of voluntary organizations, as well as the bodies responsible for social policies, but also families and individuals who need to evaluate specific solutions. The visit to the fair guarantees direct contact with the best production and commercial companies, with the added value of requesting customizations and tailor-made interventions.

REAS will also give space to the topic of workplace safety, offering a range of devices and services designed for companies operating in emergency contexts. Many innovations intended for the emergency sector, in fact, also find application in the field of workplace safety and this is why, in certain processes, the production processes are carried out in a synergistic manner.

Every year REAS attracts over 29,000 operators and volunteers, attentive to all the news that can improve the standards of intervention”, concludes Zorzi. “The visit to the fair is a business opportunity for companies and, at the same time, an opportunity for training and personal growth for those who work in the sector.

The socio-health aspects in emergencies: the Italian Red Cross conference at REAS

Create an opportunity for discussion with the main actors of the Civil Protection system, the institutions, the territory and the private sector; enhance the skills of the Italian Red Cross in responding to humanitarian emergencies; create synergy between actors, institutions and stakeholders to propose concrete and inclusive models also for the private sector; develop an integrated approach with civil society by putting the territory first.

These are the main objectives of the conference entitled “People at the centre. The socio-health aspects in emergencies” promoted on Saturday 7 October, as part of REAS, by the Italian Red Cross. The appointment is at 3.00 pm in Room 1A.
