REAS 2026, the International Emergency Exhibition, opens tomorrow and will run from Thursday, October 8, to Saturday, October 10, at Centro Fiera Montichiari (Brescia). Now in its twenty-fifth edition, the event will feature 311 exhibitors from Italy and 24 other countries, including Germany, France, Spain, Sweden, Poland, Great Britain, Ukraine, the United States, Canada, China, and South Korea. The exhibition will span a total area of 30,000 square meters, occupying all eight halls of the fairgrounds. The opening ceremony will take place tomorrow, Thursday, October 8 (at 11:00 a.m.), attended by civil and military officials.
“A quarter-century of history marks a significant milestone for REAS, but above all, it represents a new starting point,” stated Ezio Zorzi, Director of Centro Fiera Montichiari. “Once again this year, leading Italian and international players in the field will showcase the latest technological innovations across the emergency, civil protection, first aid, and firefighting sectors. Furthermore, visitors will have access to numerous training and professional development sessions. After twenty-five years, REAS confirms its status as the premier trade fair for Italy’s emergency sector and a valuable opportunity for professionals and volunteers to meet and exchange ideas.”
In the pavilions of the Montichiari exhibition center, visitors can view vehicles and equipment for operations in areas affected by fires and natural disasters, water rescue boats and devices, special vehicles capable of operating in flooded or earthquake-stricken zones, and aerial monitoring drones. The event will also feature ambulances equipped with life-saving first-aid gear, communication systems linking operations centers with rescue teams, technical clothing for personnel, and innovative aids for people with disabilities.
An extensive cultural program is also planned, featuring around twenty conferences and seminars on topics of great interest, such as forest firefighting, the use of drones in civil protection, mountain rescue operations, emergency psychology, and the use of electric and hybrid vehicles for medical transport. Practical demonstrations aimed at training professionals and volunteers in the rescue and civil protection sectors are also on the agenda; notably, on Saturday, October 10 (at 3:00 PM in the exhibition center’s outdoor area), a joint-agency major emergency drill will take place, simulating a response by the Traffic Police, Fire Department, and AREU to a serious highway accident involving the closure of both lanes.
The REAS trade fair is organized by Centro Fiera Montichiari in partnership with Hannover Fairs International GmbH and the specialized trade fair Interschutz—an event held every four years, with the next edition scheduled for May 20–25, 2030, in Hannover. Once again this year, the exhibition will benefit from the patronage of numerous bodies, regions, state agencies, and associations within the Italian emergency management system. Admission is free and open to all, subject to online registration at: www.reasonline.it/visita/.
