REAS: an enormous success for the Internationa Emergency Exhibition 311 exhibitors and over 30 thousand attendees from Italy and 50 other countries

“REAS 2025” has set a new record. The twenty-fourth edition of the international emergency trade fair welcomed 30,000 attendees from Italy and more than 50 countries worldwide, with volunteers and professionals filling the eight halls of the Montichiari Exhibition Centre (Brescia) over the last three days. The number of exhibitors also grew, with 311 companies, organizations, and associations from Italy and 24 other countries presenting their products in a total space of over 30,000 square meters. “Once again this year, REAS’s results have confirmed the growth trend in recent years, consolidating our event’s undisputed leadership in Italy and abroad,” stated Ezio Zorzi, General Manager of the Montichiari Exhibition Centre. “The challenge that awaits us now, looking forward to the twenty-fifth edition, already scheduled for October 2nd – 4th, 2026, is to further expand and improve our product and training course offer in order to meet the needs of the entire emergency and civil protection sector.”

“REAS 2025” received a video message from the Minister of Civil Protection and Maritime Policies, Nello Musumeci, and was also attended by the head of the National Civil Protection Department, Fabio Ciciliano, who spoke at the “Youth Table” organized by the aforementioned Department. The halls of the Montichiari exhibition centre showcased new vehicles and equipment designed for intervention in areas hit by natural disasters, special vehicles capable of operating in flooded or earthquake-stricken zones, fire-fighting systems, drones and tracked robots for the search of missing persons, next-generation technology for monitoring rivers and volcanoes, ambulances equipped with life-saving equipment and for transporting disabled people, as well as communication systems for connecting operational centres and rescuers. Demonstrations of new vehicles, joint exercises, and operational simulations were also a part of the activities, while simultaneously there was also a packed programme of 50 conferences, seminars, and collateral events, offering visitors a valuable opportunity for professional development and training.

The “REAS” exhibition is organized by the Montichiari Exhibition Centre in partnership with Hannover Fairs International GmbH and “Interschutz,” the world’s leading specialized exhibition held every four years and scheduled to take place from June 1st to 6th, 2026, in Hanover (Germany). “REAS continues to establish itself as an important point of reference in Italy and also abroad for the emergency sector, as well as an opportunity for Italian and German companies and associations to meet and develop partnerships,” commented Andreas Züge, Managing Director of Hannover Fairs International. “We intend to continue and in fact build these partnerships in the future, especially in the light of the important 25th edition foreseen for 2026.” The German Association for the Promotion of Fire Protection (VFDB) and the German Fire Service Association (DFV) were present at “REAS” also this year.

Medical assistance in confined spaces: the AREU conference at REAS

Every year, REAS is an opportunity for discussion and growth for those actively involved in emergency management. The 24th edition of the International Emergency Exhibition, scheduled for October 3-5 at Centro Fiera Montichiari, will offer a program of conferences, seminars, and workshops that focus on training as well as debate among those participating in the national emergency management protocol.

One of the most anticipated events is the conference entitled “Medical rescue in confined spaces: what to know and what to do. Best practices suggested by experts,” organized by AREU on Saturday, October 4. The event begins at 9:00 a.m. in Room 1A (second floor, central entrance).

The number of Civil Protection volunteers in Italy is growing.
New tools and technologies for emergencies at REAS 2025

The number of volunteers engaged in emergency and relief activities is growing in Italy. Over 4,000 organizations are registered in the national register of the Department of Civil Protection, of which approximately 3,850 are local associations that report to regional coordination bodies. In total, hundreds of thousands of men and women are deployed in the field during major events, as well as helping to address fires, floods, earthquakes, and other natural disasters. According to the latest ISTAT data, in the decade from 2013 to 2023, organized volunteers in the social assistance and civil protection sectors saw significant growth (+7.7%), especially when compared to the decline in organized volunteering overall (-3.6%). An opportunity to review the development and prospects of this sector will be “REAS 2025,” the twenty-fourth edition of the International Emergency Exhibition, scheduled for October 3-5 at Centro Fiera Montichiari (Brescia).

“REAS is specifically aimed at the many volunteers and professionals in the civil defense sector,” said Ezio Zorzi, director of the Centro Fiera Montichiari, “who find in our event a broad overview of the latest technological innovations in the fields of emergency response, first aid, fire prevention, workplace safety, and even aids for people with disabilities. This year, we’ve seen a further increase in requests from exhibiting companies, accompanied by an ever-increasing quality of merchandise. Our goal is to offer an integrated vision of the emergency system, as well as offering a broad program of conferences and seminars to promote professional development and training.”

With just one month to go until its opening, “REAS 2025” is nearing a sell-out: approximately 280 exhibitors from Italy and 20 other countries have confirmed their presence. In the exhibition center’s pavilions, visitors will be able to view new vehicles and equipment for interventions in areas affected by natural disasters, special vehicles capable of operating in flooded or earthquake-stricken zones, firefighting systems, drones and tracked robots for searching for missing persons, next-generation sensors for monitoring rivers and volcanoes, ambulances equipped with life-saving equipment and for transporting disabled people, and communication systems for connecting operations centers and rescuers. Large outdoor test areas will also be available, providing an opportunity to showcase large vehicles and conduct operational simulations. A busy program of conferences, conventions, and seminars is also underway to train and update professionals and volunteers in civil defense, healthcare, and firefighting.

The “REAS” trade show is organized by the Montichiari Exhibition Center in partnership with Hannover Fairs International GmbH and “Interschutz,” the world’s leading specialized trade fair held every four years and scheduled for June 1-6, 2026, in Hanover, Germany. This year, the trade show will once again feature stands representing Italian government agencies, regions, government bodies, and associations involved in the Italian emergency management system. REAS 2025: Internationalization and technology transfer thanks to the partnership with INTERSCHUTZ

Internationalization is a key factor in REAS’s growth. The 2024 edition featured exhibitors from Italy and 18 other countries. The event boasts the presence of leading national and international industry players, which, over the years, has been accompanied by a steady increase in the number of visiting professionals and delegations from abroad.

REAS has also achieved international trade fair status and ISO 25639:2008 certification from ISFCERT No. 183/2024 RSMG24R.

The 2025 edition of REAS, scheduled for Centro Fiera Montichiari (BS), promises to be a comprehensive European event and will reap the benefits of over a decade of growth. Specifically, the strategic partnership between Centro Fiera Montichiari and Deutsche Messe AG, established in 2014, has increased the international appeal of the REAS brand, encouraging incoming buyers and the presence of specialized foreign exhibitors at the fair. Synergies with INTERSCHUTZ, the world’s leading trade fair for the safety sector, and the ongoing exchange of expertise with German partners are essential factors in developing REAS’s potential.

REAS, Italy’s leading trade fair for the emergency sector, will play a leading role in the 2026 edition of INTERSCHUTZ, which will be held from June 1 to 6 in Hanover.

REAS 2025: Saturday 4 October the point on forest fire prevention with the AIB Round Table

The 24th edition of REAS, scheduled from 3 to 5 October 2025 at the Centro Fiera Montichiari (BS), will be a moment of meeting, discussion and technical analysis for Institutions, State Bodies and associations that are an active part of the national emergency management protocol.

One of the key sectors is forest fire prevention. Due to its geographical conformation and the negative consequences of climate change, Italy pays specific attention to the monitoring, prevention and extinguishing of forest fires.

The appointment with the AIB Round Table, promoted by the magazine “La Protezione Civile Italiana” and coordinated by the director Franco Pasargiklian, is therefore confirmed for Saturday 4 October. In the AIB pavilion, institutional representatives, analysts and experts will be present who will have the opportunity to take stock of the summer prevention, monitoring and intervention activities, discussing the future of forest fire prevention, in light of the technological innovations and investments already planned.

At REAS 2025, an ANCI conference dedicated to the operations of the Local Authorities Mobile Column

The appointment with REAS is a moment of discussion between State Bodies, entities, groups and associations that are an active part of the national emergency management protocol. Each edition of the fair therefore becomes an opportunity for discussion and debate but also an effective tool for training and technology transfer.

The conference proposal is a fundamental component of REAS because it allows operators and volunteers present at the fair to delve into concrete aspects of their operational activity.

On Friday 3 October, on the opening day, REAS will host the conference entitled “The Mobile Column of Local Authorities for Administrative Continuity – Emergency Interventions, Characteristics and Developments” promoted by ANCI. The technical meeting will be an opportunity to delve into key issues for civil protection activities. The detailed program will be available soon.

REAS 2025: at the fair vehicles and technologies for first aid and aids for people with disabilities

Emergency management requires increasingly integrated skills, in which it is necessary to coordinate each area of intervention as best as possible. First aid is an activity in which technological innovation, the quality of devices and, above all, staff training are increasingly important. The 2025 edition of “REAS”, scheduled from 3 to 5 October at Centro Fiera Montichiari (BS), has first aid as one of the macro-sectors that, together with fire prevention, civil protection and safety at work, make up the exhibition offer. At the fair, therefore, it is possible to evaluate a wide range of ambulances and rescue vehicles, with tailor-made customizations that allow organizations, groups and associations to find ad hoc solutions for each type of service.

The qualified presence of the ambulance sector is one of the jewels in the crown of REAS”, explains Ezio Zorzi, director of Centro Fiera Montichiari. “Since its first editions, the show has been the event where rescue workers and volunteers can get a close-up look at the types of vehicles they use in the field, evaluating technological innovations and customizations, in close contact with the most important production and commercial entities in the sector.

A fundamental component of the first aid sector is the one that focuses specifically on aids for people with disabilities. In fact, assistance and service activities benefit greatly from the latest generation devices and technological solutions that allow the standards of rescue activities to be raised, but also of daily assistance.

It is no coincidence that more and more exhibitors are choosing the Montichiari event to present special vehicles and innovative solutions for those who work in first aid and transport, but also for families involved in assistance activities on a daily basis. The added value of the fair is that of direct contact, with the possibility of receiving initial advice and evaluating all the options that the market offers.

The October edition, in fact, will provide the opportunity to take stock of special setups for ambulances and medical cars. The interlocutors are the operators of voluntary organizations, as well as the competent bodies for social policies, but also families and individuals who need to adopt specific solutions. The visit to the fair is also a real training event, to stay up to date on technological evolution and the latest generation devices.

REAS is a complete event with an exhibition offering that covers all areas of emergency management,” concludes director Zorzi. “For the first aid sector and aids for people with disabilities, as well as for the other exhibition macro-sectors, the goal is specialization.

REAS 2025: an increasingly integrated vision of the emergency system at the fair

Offering an integrated vision of the emergency system, with the aim of quickly and effectively managing rescue in hostile contexts. This will be the guiding principle of the 24th edition of “REAS”, scheduled from 3 to 5 October at the Centro Fiera Montichiari (BS). Thanks to the partnership between Centro Fiera Montichiari, Hannover Fairs International GmbH and INTERSCHUTZ 2026, the most important global event dedicated to the safety sector held in Hannover, REAS is counting on the participation at the fair of the main players in the fire prevention, civil protection, first aid, aids for people with disabilities and workplace safety sectors. Each edition attracts 30 thousand buyers, operators and volunteers from Italy and abroad to Montichiari.

Although it is divided into macro exhibition sectors that make the visit to the fair more accessible, the International Exhibition for Rescue, Fire Fighting, Disaster Relief and Securitypromotes an increasingly integrated vision of emergency management. In complex disaster situations, the effectiveness of relief is linked to the coordination capacity of individual teams, each called to operate in a specific phase of the intervention protocol. For specialized operators and volunteers, therefore, a trade fair is attractive not only for the relevance of the exhibition part but also for the content offered. The fair also constitutes a valuable moment of dialogue and discussion “in person”, in which to test operational protocols and debate the main current issues.

“At REAS, the exhibition offering goes hand in hand with the content offering,” explains Ezio Zorzi, director of the Centro Fiera Montichiari. “Visiting the fair is a way to evaluate innovative technologies and services for the emergency sector and, at the same time, it is an opportunity to access high-level training content that involves Institutions, State Bodies and Associations with a leading role in the national emergency management protocol.”

On the exhibition front, the 2025 edition of REAS confirms the growth trend of companies in the fire-fighting sector. The participation of leading companies in the sector is increasing in quantitative terms, also with exhibition spaces and outdoor test areas that constitute an additional opportunity to exhibit large vehicles and propose product simulations. The growth of the exhibition part is accompanied by that of the conference offering. Even in the program of seminars, conferences and workshops proposed at the fair, in fact, the share of events that focus on fire prevention issues, in particular forest fire prevention, is increasing. Climate change and the consequent recrudescence of forest fires in Europe and around the world make it essential to intensify monitoring and prevention activities, making the most of new technologies related to drones and data processing, in which artificial intelligence will also play an increasingly decisive role. REAS 2025 will be an opportunity to take stock of the situation, combining scientific research and field applications.

As every year, the panel of training events and conferences will be proposed in collaboration with institutions, universities, research centers and associations in the sector.

REAS 2025 towards sold out: working on the training events program

For over twenty years, combining the exhibition offering with a proposal of high-level training content for those working in the emergency sector has been one of the main objectives of “REAS”. The 2025 edition, scheduled for 3 to 5 October at Centro Fiera Montchiari (Italy), is heading towards a sell-out with the presence at the fair of the most important national players for fire prevention, civil protection, ambulance and first aid sectors, aids for people with disabilities and safety at work. In these weeks, the organization of the program of events at the fair that focus on training also comes to life.

Every year, in fact, volunteers and operators from all over Italy visit the International Exhibition for Rescue, Fire Fighting, Disaster Relief and Security to take stock of products, services and technological innovations for the emergency sector, but also to choose from the numerous opportunities for updating offered by the collateral events. The 2024 edition offered a broad and detailed program, with 44 conferences, workshops and training events and with over 100 speakers involved. Every year, therefore, for those who work in the various areas of emergency management, REAS confirms itself as a valuable event to refine their technical knowledge.

“The topic of training has always played a key role for REAS – says Ezio Zorzi, director of Centro Fiera Montichiari – In view of the October edition, we are working on the program of conferences, seminars, workshops and demonstrations to be hosted during the days of the fair. Like every year, institutions and associations that actively participate in the national emergency management protocol will be involved and choose REAS to propose training initiatives to a qualified audience of operators and volunteers from all over Italy.”

The opportunities for meeting and dialogue are one of the added values of REAS, an event that offers a complete overview of the most innovative technologies and services for the emergency sector. During the days at the fair, buyers, operators and business delegations have the opportunity to have direct contact with production and commercial companies that constantly invest in innovation and choose the annual event in Montichiari to launch new lines of products and services. In the pavilions of the fairgrounds, already close to sold-out, it will be possible to evaluate new vehicles and equipment for interventions in areas hit by natural disasters, special vehicles capable of operating in flooded or earthquake-stricken areas, drones and tracked robots for searching for missing persons, new-generation sensors for monitoring rivers and volcanoes, ambulances equipped with life-saving equipment and communication systems for connections between operational centres and rescuers. Increasing visibility is given to the fire-fighting sector with latest-generation vehicles and equipment that will find space both in the exhibition pavilions and in the external area. Furthermore, the proposals related to first aid are growing with emergency vehicles and innovative aids for people with disabilities.

REAS is a fair that attracts more and more visitors from abroad too. For over ten years, the partnership between Centro Fiera Montichiari and Hannover Fairs International GmbH has contributed to increasing the awareness of the REAS brand at an international level, encouraging an increase in visits by buyers from abroad. The link between REAS and INTERSCHUTZ, the most important world fair dedicated to the safety sector held every five years in Hannover, is increasingly strategic in a historical phase in which, also in the context of emergency management, collaboration at a European level is expected to be one of the great challenges of the coming years.

REAS 2025: from 3 to 5 October the emergency system will be the protagonist at Montichiari

The twenty-fourth edition of “REAS”, scheduled from 3 to 5 October at Centro Fiera Montichiari (Italy), will focus on the key issues that involve the entire emergency sector. Attracting 30 thousand visitors from Italy and abroad, the fair confirms itself every year as a strategic point of reference for production and commercial entities that operate in civil protection, fire prevention, first aid, aids for people with disabilities and safety at work.

“The centrality of REAS is the result of a long growth path – says Ezio Zorzi, director Centro Fiera Montichiari – REAS is a strategic event for those who invest and innovate and, at the same time, a moment of technical discussion, in which the business and institutional worlds have the opportunity to dialogue. The common goal is to improve the intervention standards and make the emergency management system increasingly efficient.”

REAS will offer an overview of the most innovative technologies and services for the emergency sector, encouraging meetings between operators, buyers and business delegations. In the pavilions of the exhibition centre it will be possible to evaluate new vehicles and equipment for interventions in areas hit by natural disasters, special vehicles capable of operating in flooded or earthquake-stricken areas, drones and tracked robots for searching for missing persons, new-generation sensors for monitoring rivers and volcanoes, ambulances equipped with sophisticated life-saving equipment and communication systems for connections between operational centres and rescuers. More and more attention will be paid to the fire-fighting sector with latest-generation vehicles and equipment that will find space both in the exhibition pavilions and in the external area. The fair will also give visibility to new products and equipment for first aid with emergency vehicles and innovative aids for people with disabilities.

“The 2025 edition will occupy the entire exhibition centre”, continues Zorzi. “We have recorded a very high percentage of reconfirmations, with many historical exhibitors who have asked to expand their area. We have also received many requests from companies who want to exhibit at REAS for the first time. This is an encouraging figure that shows that the fair is able to intercept new market demands as well.”

“REAS ” is an event organized by Centro Fiera di Montichiari in collaboration with Hannover Fairs International GmbH and INTERSCHUTZ, the most important world fair dedicated to the safety sector that is held every five years in Hannover. The partnership has contributed to the internationalization of the REAS brand and to the growth of international delegations and external buyers present at the fair.

During the opening days, in addition to the exhibition part, “REAS” will offer a wide range of contents with conferences, seminars, accredited courses, simulations and tests in the external area. The aim is to make the visit to the fair a concrete opportunity for on-the-job training and professional updating. The REAS organizational secretariat is already working on the program that, as usual, will be proposed in collaboration with State Bodies, entities and associations active in the Italian emergency management protocol.

The appointment with the twenty-fourth edition of “REAS” is for Friday 3, Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 October at Centro Fiera Montichiari.
